This year, Sep 1st is the great celebration of sixty-year-old set-up of PRC. A wide variety of celebrating activities are held.
I, being a member of NCCC dance team, took part in the parade of National Day, hold by NCCC in Sep 27th. Although I came to Canada for eight years, it was the first time to join in this kind of activity. I was really excited and arrived at Queen’s Park at 9am. There were lots of people from many different groups there. Some are professional team, agency, fellow villager and international students. People were wearing many different national clothing and holiday dressing, as well as nation flag of two countries and balloons.
NCCC consisted of waist drum dance who were wearing white suit and red waist drum, dance team who were dressing Tibet, Mongolia, Uyghur and Gaoshan dressing as well as flower team.
Parade started at 12pm. The team walked to college street, west to Spadina, south to Dundas street, turn left to Dundas West Street and finally east to Dundas Square.
There are lots of citizens around us during the parade. And bus driver and passengers made applause for us.
Our waist drum dance team was energetic and popular. Our dance team started to show Sinkiang, Mongolia, Tibet and Gaoshan dance. Flower team song “Praise Motherland”. Everyone was excited and emotional at singing and dancing.
When we walked into Chinatown, the commercial tenant and passers-by cheered for us and make applause. There were many relatives of parade participants. Everyone was very happy and enthusiastic.
After parade, I cannot help excited for a long time. I am proud of strong Motherland and as well as being a Chinese.
